Taek Kwon!
Thank you so much for inviting me and Stephen to the sparring seminar on Sunday. The experience was wonderful everyone was extremely helpful. There were so many drills that Stephen and I spent a majority of our flight back to Charleston trying to remember them and write them down to take back to our studio. I am really thankful for Julio for taking his time after the seminar to talk with Stephen and answer so many of his questions, and during the seminar he took some time to help me figure out a footwork drill that I was having problems with. Our studio in Charleston is small and I am not used to being around so many other black belts and learning along side of them, but Stephen and I both felt very welcomed and were not afraid to ask any questions that came to mind. There were so many fun drills I can’t wait to try in our class! Again, thank you for the opportunity we look forward to the next time.

I just wanted to say I loved the workout and I hope I get to do it again and thank you Master Suarez, Julio Carlos, and William Perlaza for teaching me and giving me attention as well as Julio Carlos mother. Thank you so much. I learned a lot in how to master my craft. Thank You

The seminar with Julio Carlos and William Perlaza was awesome! They were very generous sharing all their knowledge and also very patient showing the exercises as many times as needed for us to get the idea. I learned a lot and feel inspired to practice what I learned. Julio’s technique, strength and speed are amazing. Willy’s dexterity and creativity with anything related to pushups is astonishing. Master Suarez’s supervision and organization made the event to flow very nicely. I will certainly do the “homework” they gave us, and will make sure that my students do it too – many times. Thank you for a great seminar, and keep up all the good work.

I wanted to say a “big kudos” to Master Suarez, Mr. Perlaza and the World Champion, Julio Carlos for an all inspiring, educational and all around wonderful seminar. I had the unique opportunity to spend 8 hours on a fabulous seminar that was very well presented with tons of valuable information. The concept of sparring became very clear to me because of the way it was explained. Including myself, all the participants were excited and happy to be a part of such a special and fun seminar. I hope that Master Suarez continues to promote this seminar to all the schools around the country. This seminar is proof of exactly why Master Suarez has produced the only world champion in the USA in both divisions, junior and senior. I was deeply saddened to see that not all schools in the immediate area took advantage of this seminar because I believe that it shows a serious lack of support of the ITF-USA Schools and with the Instructors themselves having no representation at all for this special seminar. I feel as though, some schools prefer to support people from other countries and they are turning their backs on our champions even though our Instructors are just as capable or even better than the foreign champions. I also wanted to make a point at the great lesson that Mr. Julio Carlos has taught us by being part of this seminar, it definitely surpasses Indomitable Spirit and Perseverance. Regardless of the unfortunate accident that Mr. Julio had a few months ago, he showed us that this type of accident or anything in life for that matter can be dealt with and does not have to ruin you life unless you choose that road. Mr. Julio didn’t let this stop him and he continued with his training and his quest to achieve more World Championships. GOOD JOB MR. JULIO!

Dear Master Suarez, Mr. Perlaza and Julio Carlos:
I want to congratulate all of you for the interesting seminar you organized. I hope your efforts of transmitting your best ideas about different fighting techniques and the physical and mental preparation a student requires in order to be a successful competitor would be appreciated for the participants.
I had the opportunity to visit you and witness the happiness, camaraderie and good disposition of the students. They were eager to show their new knowledge with a world champion and Julio showed his openness and selfless disposition to help them getting confidence in improving their techniques.
Well sirs, this is TaeKwon-Do spirit in action and for that I am glad to be a part of this wonderful martial art that unites us through our daily practice.
Yours,
Master Carlos Ramirez – CO-7-02

I would like to congratulate Mr. Perlaza & Julio Carlos for a great seminar. The practical applications of sparring techniques shown by Julio Carlos was impressive. Training exercises, stamina training, dodging and other applications of TaeKwon-Do were preformed with expertise. Great seminar for Black Belts or Color Belts. There were many participants from many different schools and organizations which also showed how much people want to train and more out of TaeKwon-Do.
Good Job.

I write you this letter to express my gratitude for your countless efforts to teach TaeKwon-Do anytime or anywhere regardless of affiliation. Your sparring seminar was very well planned and was very informative. My students and myself still are talking about what a good time we had. The exercises and drills were very intense but also very logical. I would say that this seminar was very successful. My only wish would be to have either handouts with some of the drills we practiced or maybe an email with the drills and exercises. There was just so much material we covered it is just hard to remember it all. Thank you Master Suarez for all you do for TaeKwon-Do and I hope that more people follow your example. To teach to anyone, anywhere, and anyplace. Instead of wasting time and energy on pointless arguments. We must all remember we are Martial Artist not politicians. Thank you again Master…..
Sincerely,
Sean H. Sutton V Dan ITF-TAO

I would like to thank you for the wonderful sparring seminar with Julio Carlos and coach William Peraza. The students from the Spartans Taekwon Do were just amazed with the high level of technical expertise and conditioning of the presenters. Thank you very much for giving our youngsters the opportunity to train with individuals who dedicated their lives in TWD and this way motivate them to become more serious and dedicated in their own practice.
Thank You again,
Spartans TWD

Master Suarez,
Allan wanted me to pass this on to you, while he was not at the seminar he still wanted to give you his comments,
Two of my students, Angela Shaffett and Stephen Harper, participated in the sparring seminar in NY over the weekend, and returned home with alot of information and new drills. They have been extremely excited to be able to show our class what they learned and talk about the experience. Thank you Master Suarez for inviting our studio and allowing us this opportunity to learn from the best.” -Allan Dela Cruz, Academy of Martial Art, SC

The seminar was amazing, the participants could enjoy of the vast experience of Mr. Perlaza as coach and the physical conditioning as one of the most important aspects to be a good competitor.
During the seminar, we were introduced to a variety of drills focus on physical strength, stamina, speed, and also attacking and counter attacking techniques, we acquired a lot of knowledge which can be now shared with our students.

Hello fellow students, parents and martial art enthusiasts.
My name is John Richardson and I’m a 1st gup (Red belt/black stripe) student here at Advantage Tae Kwon Do. I would like to share with you all about my privilege to attend a special sparring seminar hosted by Master Ruben Suarez (8th dan) in Queens, NY.The seminar was held in the banquette room at the Holiday Inn in Queens on January 29, 2012. Along with Master Suarez, were ITF USA National Coach, Mr.William Perlaza (6th dan) and two time ITF World Sparring Champion (juniors and seniors) Mr. Julio Carlos (3rd dan) teaching the seminar. The seminar focused on beginner/advanced foot work, physical conditioning and offensive and defensive techniques.
Unlike many seminars, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this one was almost entirely hands on learning from some of the best Instructors and one of the best fighters in the world. There was very little talk except to explain a technique/exercise and it’s application in sparring. The seminar began with Mr. Perlaza teaching/working out the entire attendance with various physical training exercises. Afterwards, Mr.Carlos demonstrated many different sparring techniques while Master Suarez explained the applications to pretty much everything taught that day. In attendance were TKD Instructors and students from 6th dan to white belt. Young and old, EVERYONE was working hard and sweating! Our hosts encouraged many questions to be asked and were pleased to answer everyone. For 7 full hours we exercised, drilled and finally sparred. The day was grueling but well worth the time and effort.
The high light of the seminar for myself was at one point my partner I was practicing drills with had to leave a little early and I was left with out a partner. When Mr.Perlaza noticed my dilemma, he paired me up with Mr. Julio Carlos. I was now getting one on one training time with a World Champion!Even though I felt like I was ready to collapse from exhaustion (and I wasn’t the only one). The thrill of training with the company in that room kept me motivated to keep going.
This was a fantastic seminar Queens Tae kwon Do hosted and I Highly recommend students to attend any seminar they organize. I wish more of my classmates could have shared in this valuable learning experience and I’m overjoyed more of my future competition didn’t haha. I myself will be attending as many in the future as I’m able.
TAE KWON !
